I have tried so hard this week to get some new pictures of Perry so I could write this post. Unfortunately, she will not look at the camera! I have tried everything. This is a picture from the car and I decided if I didn't just use this picture, this 18 month post was not going to get done.
So...............my baby girl is 18 months. She has definitely been a toddler for a while now but I remember a long time ago my sister told me that 18 months was officially considered toddler so I have been going by that rule. Trying to keep her a baby for as long as possible. She weighs about 30 pounds and wears a size 5 diaper. She has been wearing pullups for a month or so b/c she likes to tell you when her diaper is dirty. She also likes to just take it off herself. I am not ready to start potty training. I think she's too young also but my mom and sister say differently. We will see how that goes. :)
Perry knows almost all of her colors and will point to them in her book. She says everything is "lellow" though. A few weeks ago her new color word was "back" and she was saying it all night. She then proceeded to color with her "back" crayon ALL OVER THE COUCH. Ha! Thank goodness it was washable. The next week our bathroom walls got a makeover with "boo". Again, washable. She has definitely started testing us and pretty much laughs at me when I tell her no. Sometimes she will hang her head and pretend to be real sad about getting in trouble though. She says lots of words, mommy, daddy, nanny, bob, ree ree (my sister), call (uncle mccall), harley (not so much with the "r" though) for harlyn, bubee for liam, and wevy for revell. she says bo (for bo - taylor's dad), deek for deacon, she says georgia but it's ga ga (not like lady gaga, the other g sound), ip for kip and meme for emily. she can also sort of say avery and we are working on the others. poor jannie is always said last. she still LOVES some barney. bah-eeey. she says apple, shoes, car, pool, rubie, more, caca for popsicle, cotcot for hotdog, juice, milk (with a very enuciated k on the end), spoon (with really long ooooo in the middle), i love you, mommy at work, where daddy go? or if anyone leaves her sight, people, dogs, etc. she asks where they went. she talks on her phone all of the time and walks around holding it up to her ear having a full conversation with cued laughing. it's really cute and i need to catch it on video.
she just recently outgrew all of her shoes and pjs. literally overnight. she now wears a 6 or 7 shoe and nothing under a 2t. she still takes 2 bah bahs at night. she refuses to take milk from any sort of straw, sippy cup or anything besides a very specific bottle. i'm not really worried about it b/c she doesn't have a paci or any other attachment blanket or anything. she loves to drink her bah bah and snuggle up with me and rub my forearm. she only wants me to feed her the bah bah which hurts taylor's feelings. i call it our special time.
she is still a huge fruit eater but has been eating so much the last couple of days she must be growing. i think her favorite snack at the moment is white cheddar popcorn. she still gets up every night and gets in bed with us. it's so bad and my sleep definitly suffers b/c of it but it is just our routine. i figure she will be in a toddler bed soon enough. i also am trying to savor the moments that she will let me hold her. she is just too busy and runs around all of the time - swinging just her left arm.
one more thing i have to mention is her hair. it has turned super blonde this summer and it is CURLY. it's so cute and i hope she never loses her curls. her hair is actually pretty long in the back - you can tell when it's wet. if she didn't have the curls she would be sporting an awesome mullet.
i have no idea how the last 18 months have flown by so fast but they have definitely been the best months of our lives. we love you perry!
