One Year Ago Today......

Exactly one year ago today we moved to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It was one of the best experiences of our lives. We moved there for a project Taylor was starting up. We knew our time there would be limited so we took full advantage of all of the things to do. It was kind of like a 6 month vacation. We lived in a condo 2 blocks from the beach, located right in the heart of Playa on 5th Ave. and absolutely loved it! We met a ton of great friends, mostly Americans or Canadians that lived there full time or half of the year. It was an absolute blast! It seems like we were there for a lot longer than we were, but at the same time the time really flew by. I can't believe it's been a whole year since we embarked on this adventure. Here are some of my favorite pictures....

Taylor at the beach. This is where we spent the majority of our time. Our favorite thing to do was to get a bottle of wine and walk down at sunset when the beach had cleared out. We made this our nightly ritual.

By far, the BEST place to eat in Playa. Chicago's was owned by an American couple, Peter and Dahlia, who we became very good friends with. We would eat here 2 or 3 times a week. We loved it! If you are ever in Playa you must eat here! This is a bad picture, that's me sitting in the right hand corner. =)

On a day trip over to Cozumel. We rented scooters and rode around the entire island. We stopped at this place, Coconuts, to have lunch. It was on the side of the island that didn't have electricity (read: no frozen margaritas). This was a very fun day!

The infamous taco bus!!! These tacos were incredible! They had just opened a second location right by our house on the way to the beach when we moved.

On our way to Tulum, it was about 45 minutes south of Playa. We went for our first anniversary in January! Tulum is where they film the Corona commercials and the beach is every bit as beautiful as it is in the commercials. Notice that the road you drive on is feet away - those rocks are the shoulder.

Casa Magna, where we stayed in Tulum. This was Pablo Escobar's beach house that they renovated into an Eco-Chic B&B. It was fabulous!!!

And when you turn around, this was the beach. What a view!

Back in Playa, another fave. Babe's Noodle Bar. The blueberry margaritas are to die for! This is Taylor and Liam out front. Babe's was another weekly spot for us!

What a great time we had. Living there was truly something we will never forget and I am so happy I got to do it with my best friend. I am so grateful we had the opportunity. We want to go back and visit soon!

20 Week Appointment

We went to the doctor today and everything is right on track. The heartbeat was 154, and the measurements were where they were supposed to be! I've gained 14 lbs. Ha! Everything else checked out great and he said we were on "cruise-control". I'm taking that as a good sign? Since we didn't get any new ultrasound pics here are a few from my 18 week appt. They aren't the best but I want them documented so I'll have them in the future.

20 Week Bump Watch

Today I am officially at the halfway point! 20 weeks. Wow! We are so very thankful to be at this point. She is moving around a lot more, especially at night. I have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday so hopefully we will get some new updates or ultrasound pics. Until then, I have been getting majorly hassled for some belly pics so I am going to be really brave and post some. =)

Fun with the Family

We had such a good time with Taylor's family last week! We got to spend lots of time with the kiddos which is always fun. Deacon is the sweetest baby ever, he never fusses or cries and is just the perfect little angel. Georgia is hilarious and kept us busy and laughing the whole time! Georgia playing - she is on the move so I had a hard time getting good pics of her. She is so cute and is at a super fun age. She warmed right up to us too (with minimal bribing of candy ;)) which was great! I love this picture b/c her baby Converse shoes are awesome!

We were only able to see our other nieces on one night b/c they started school on Monday. I didn't get any pics either! Next trip we will see them more!

19 Weeks!

I am 19 weeks today! Time is really flying by, I can't believe in one more week I will be half way through my pregnancy. Crazy! I have been feeling her move a little here and there - nothing major, just little flutters for about a week - but today I felt the first real thump. =)

We have been super busy around here and this weekend I cleaned out all of the closets (with some help from my hubby on the heavy lifting part) and reorganized, decluttered, etc. so the baby now has her very own closet. With some super cute new outfits hanging in there too! We sort of just crammed everything that didn't have a place into 3 closets when we first moved in and I should have taken some before and after pics of them b/c it is a pretty amazing transformation.

We are going home tomorrow for the week to see Taylor's family and we get to see our new baby nephew! I will take lots of pics!

It's a GIRL!!!!!!!!!

We found out today we are having a GIRL!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited!! Everything looked great on the ultrasound - 10 fingers, 10 toes, all of the organs looked good and healthy! We are so thankful! She weighs 9 oz. and I am measuring within 2 days of my due date. I think everyone was a little surprised when we told them the news - for some reason everyone was saying boy. So Norman is now Norma! =) Also, for those of you who take the Intelligender test, mine said boy and it was wrong. I was told "boy" is the false positive and I guess that is the truth! It will be interesting to see what it says for my other friends! We are still deciding on a name - I think we will use Perry as her first name but I'm not sure on the middle name. Perry is my mom's maiden name and I love it! Sorry I don't have any pics to post!

Happy Birthday Deacon!!!!!

We welcomed our sweet baby nephew to the world today! He weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs 5.5 oz. and was 22 inches long!! Both he and his mama are doing great and we can't wait to get home to love on him! Here are a few shots of the little pumpkin!!! Isn't he cute?????
