Parent Teacher Conference

I had a great PTC with Perry's teacher last week!  I had to reschedule the original date they gave us b/c I had a work thing out of town that I couldn't miss, but Ms. Rhonda was so sweet and let me come up and meet her during naptime last week.  We ended up meeting for 45 minutes and I just feel so thankful for her and all that she does for her students.  Perry is super lucky to have such a wonderful teacher!  A couple of things she told me that I want to remember...

-perry is doing great in school, loves to learn, is meeting and exceeding all of her goals and curriculum that she should be at the 3.5 age level.
- she has a "boyfriend" Eli ;)
- she has only gotten in trouble once for getting out of her seat. ( I made sure we were talking about the same child).
- in Ms. Rhonda's exact words : she can hold her own with the boys.  We had a good laugh about this.  I'm proud of her!

She told me the funniest stories about Perry and I just ate it up.  I told her how I feel so out of the loop since Taylor drops her off in the morning and my mom or sister pick her up (except for our special Friday dates).  I hate the working mom guilt feelings that I try and bury deep inside when perry asks me everyday who is picking her up from school.  It's hard.  Very hard.  It only makes me that much more thankful for her teachers, and of course for nanny and ree ree (aunt Kerri) for helping out so much.

Most importantly, she is thriving, she loves her school and her teachers.  We count these things in our many blessings we are thankful for.  Keep up the good work, P!  We are so very proud of you !!

Halloween 2012

Once again, I am doing a bang up job of documenting my children....

Georgie was a lobster and Perry was a dog. We followed tradition and let Perry choose her own costume. :) We went to the Butler's party on Sunday (where I took zero pics b/c wrestling both kids by myself proved to be a little challenging when there is a bounce house involved), and went to the Ashley's to do the annual party and trick-or-treating with the Hogan clan. I took Perry to the same 3 or 4 houses and got her basket filled up (thank you Munna!) and we called it a night. We ended up at the my sisters around the fire pit eating s'mores while the kids told ghost stories and the girls had a huge dance party to uncle Call's Halloween mix. It was a perfect night and lots of fun! Oh, and the weather was perfect. Very thankful!

George - 7 months

George is 7 months!  I have no idea where the last month went.  I actually feel like the first 6 didn't fly by and I was so thankful for soaking it in.  But I feel like I just blinked and the last month was gone.  It's this time of year - schedules are crazy, work is crazy, the holidays are crazy.  I just want to freeze time and keep these chunky cheeks and thighs around forever.  Little man has finally started sitting up by himself!  He is so heavy, it's hard for him!  We went to the doc a few weeks ago for his congestion and he was almost 25 lbs.  24.8 or something.  Crazy.  He is in all 12-18 clothes and a size 4 shoe.  He is doing better at sleeping in his crib but is teething and has been super fussy the last week or so.  There is one little tooth trying to poke through.  Poor guy.  He is usually the happiest baby and just laughs and rolls around and loves his sister.  He reached for me the other day when Taylor had him and it melted my heart.  He gets shy and will bury his face in your neck and shoulders and it's so sweet!  We just love this little man!  He still hates school - he goes to MDO twice a week.  I mean he hates it.  Cries a lot - gets the "fussy" boxed check, etc.  I'm hoping when he gets more mobile he will enjoy it more.  ???  He still loves his paci.  He eats all of his baby food and he eats a lot of it.  Still takes his bottle great and takes water out of a sippy cup.  Still spits up a lot - but hopefully with the sitting up he will cut that out.:)  Happy 7 months sweet Georgie.  We could not love you more.

George's 6 month stats

Weight: 22.4 lbs
Height: 28.2 in
Head: 18 in

He is holding strong in the 95% for height and is in the 99% for weight.  He had a great check up and barely even cried when he got his shots.  Sweet little man.

George is 6 months!

I can't believe this little man is 6 months old! He has stolen our hearts. He's working hard on sitting up and is flipping and flopping all over the place. He loves the jumparoo. Loves it. He is doing okay in school, I think he just needs a few weeks to adjust. :). We go for his check up next week and I am interested to see how much of a chunk he is! One thing is for sure, we love this little guy to pieces, and big sister loves him most of all I think! Happy 1/2 birthday baby George!!
